Where is Village Igloo Avoriaz located?
Location:
On the Arare blue run, above the Prodains Express cable car.

How do I get to Village Igloo Avoriaz?
During the day:
- On skis: Take the Stade chairlift, then ski down the Arare blue run.
- On foot: From the top of the Prodains Express cable car, follow the path alongside the Arare blue run. Please note that the climb is fairly steep.
In the evening:
Access is reserved for guests who have booked dinner or an overnight stay. For safety reasons, you must walk to Village Igloo accompanied by a member of our team.
For overnight stays, the walk to the igloo is done on snowshoes with our guide. Snowshoes are provided.
As Avoriaz is a fully pedestrian resort, Village Igloo cannot be reached directly by car.
Where is the meeting point for dinner or an overnight stay?
Meet our team at 6:50 pm in front of the Spot Café in Avoriaz, ready to leave at 7 pm.
The 7 pm departure cannot be delayed if you are late.
How do I get to Village Igloo if I am not staying in Avoriaz?
You can reach Avoriaz via the Prodains Express cable car or drive to the entrance of the resort.
From the entrance of Avoriaz, allow at least 30 minutes on foot to reach Village Igloo and around 20 minutes to reach the evening meeting point.
Our dinner times are coordinated with the Prodains Express cable car timetable.
Where can I park?
You can park at Les Prodains, then take the Prodains Express cable car up to Avoriaz.
Alternatively, you can drive to the entrance of the resort and use one of the Avoriaz car parks. Please allow at least 30 minutes on foot from there to reach Village Igloo.
Can I get to Village Igloo by tracked vehicle?
During the day, tracked-vehicle access is not permitted as Village Igloo is located within the ski area. You can reach us on foot or on skis.
For dinner bookings, a return journey by tracked vehicle can be arranged. This service is operated by Avoriaz’s transport service; Village Igloo only handles the booking.
The price is €20 per person, including children, and is paid in full to the service provider.
To book this option, please contact us at least 48 hours before your visit. The meeting point and departure time remain the same as for guests walking to the igloo. The return journey will also take you back to the Prodains Express cable car.
Can I get to Village Igloo by snowmobile?
No. For safety reasons, access by snowmobile is not permitted, either during the day or for evening experiences.
Where is Village Igloo Les Arcs located?

Near the bottom of the Arcabulle chairlift, in Les Arcs 2000.

How do I get to Village Igloo Les Arcs?
During the day:
- On skis: Reach Village Igloo via the Vallée de l’Arc 2, Plan des Eaux or Plan ski runs.
- On foot: From the centre of Les Arcs 2000, follow the pedestrian path between the Taj-I-Mah hotel and Le Savoy restaurant. Then follow the signs to Village Igloo. Allow around 20 minutes on foot.
In the evening:
Access is reserved for guests who have booked dinner or an overnight stay. For safety reasons, you must walk to Village Igloo accompanied by our guide.
As Village Igloo is located within the ski area, it cannot be reached directly by car.
How do I get to Village Igloo from Arc 1600, Arc 1800 or Arc 1950?
From Arc 1600 or Arc 1800: Take the free shuttle bus to Arc 2000. If you are travelling from Arc 1800, you may need to change at Arc 1600. You can also drive to Arc 2000 and park there.
From Arc 1950: Take the Cabriolet gondola to Arc 2000. The gondola is free of charge.
From Bourg-Saint-Maurice: You can drive to Arc 2000 or take the funicular to Arc 1600, then take the free shuttle bus to Arc 2000.
From Peisey-Vallandry or another nearby resort: Drive to Arc 2000, then continue on foot to Village Igloo.
Our dinner times are coordinated with the Cabriolet gondola and resort shuttle timetables.

Where can I park?
In Arc 2000, you can park in the Lac des Combes and Mont-Blanc car parks, as well as the outdoor P2, P3 and P4 car parks.
You can also park in Arc 1950 and reach Arc 2000 using the Cabriolet gondola.
Can I get to Village Igloo by snowmobile?
No. For safety reasons, access by snowmobile is not permitted, either during the day or for evening experiences.

How do I get to Village Igloo Val Thorens?
On skis:
Take the Cascades chairlift, then ski down the 2 Combes green run before joining the Combe de Thorens run and continuing to Village Igloo.
On foot:
From Place Caron, L’Alberta or Fahrenheit Seven, cross the Adrien Théaux red run to reach the Flocon green run. Then cross the Dalles blue run and continue along the Combe de Thorens green run until you reach Village Igloo.
In the evening:
Access is reserved for guests who have booked dinner or an overnight stay. For safety reasons, you must walk to Village Igloo accompanied by our guide.
As Village Igloo is located within the ski area, it cannot be reached directly by car.
How do I get to Village Igloo if I am not staying in Val Thorens?
You can reach Val Thorens by car or use the free shuttle buses serving the resort.
Once in Val Thorens, make your way to the meeting point or, during the day, follow the pedestrian route described above to reach Village Igloo.
Our dinner times are coordinated with the resort shuttle timetables.
Where is the meeting point for dinner or an overnight stay?
Meet our guide at 6:50 pm at Place Caron, in front of the ESF ski school, ready to leave at 7 pm.
The 7 pm departure cannot be delayed if you are late.
Where can I park?
You can park in the P3 car park, located outside the resort, then take the shuttle bus to the centre of Val Thorens.
Can I get to Village Igloo by snowmobile?
No. For safety reasons, access by snowmobile is not permitted, either during the day or for evening experiences.
When are the Village Igloo locations open?
Our Igloo Bars are open every day throughout the winter season, from 10 am until the slopes close.
Dinner is available from 7 pm, by reservation only. Opening days may vary depending on the resort, so please check our online availability before booking.
What is the temperature inside the igloo?
The temperature inside the igloo is generally between -2°C and 0°C, so make sure you bring warm clothing suitable for mountain conditions.
For overnight stays, we provide a polar expedition sleeping bag designed to keep you warm in temperatures as low as -25°C.
What is the weather like at Village Igloo today?

What should I bring for dinner or an overnight stay in an igloo?
Make sure you bring warm clothing suitable for snowy conditions: thermal layers, ski trousers and jacket, suitable footwear, warm socks, a hat and gloves.
For the night, you can remove your ski trousers and jacket. Thermal layers, warm socks and a hat are generally sufficient.
A polar expedition sleeping bag, pillow and sleeping bag liner are provided. Hot-water bottles are also available on request.
In Avoriaz, snowshoes for the walk to the igloo are also provided for overnight guests.
Can I bring a suitcase?
We recommend travelling light, as the walk to Village Igloo is made on foot.
Suitcases should be left in your vehicle or stored in a luggage storage facility or with your accommodation provider before you arrive. Please bring only what you need for your overnight stay.
Can I charge my phone?
Yes. Our Village Igloo locations have electricity.
You can charge your phone in your room or near the bar. Feel free to ask a member of our team for help once you arrive.
Are there bathrooms and toilets at Village Igloo?
Our Village Igloo locations do not have bathrooms or showers.
In Avoriaz and Val Thorens: toilets are located outside the igloo and are accessible at all times.
In Les Arcs 2000: there is no running water. Dry toilets are located outside the igloo and are accessible at all times.
Small bottles of water are available on request at all three Village Igloo locations.
Can I get to Village Igloo on touring skis?
Yes, you can reach Village Igloo on touring skis, provided that conditions allow and you use an authorised route.
Before setting off, please check with the tourist office or ski area operator to make sure the ski-touring routes are open and authorised.
This activity is not organised or supervised by Village Igloo. You must therefore be fully independent and follow the ski area’s safety instructions and regulations.
Can I arrive on skis and leave on skis the following morning?
Yes, by prior arrangement only.
You can leave your skis at Village Igloo when the slopes close, then walk back down to the resort before meeting our guide at 6:50 pm.
The following morning, you can leave on skis only once the slopes have opened. You will therefore need to remain at Village Igloo until the ski area opens.
Is the Village Igloo experience suitable for everyone?
Getting to Village Igloo involves walking through the snow, and the experience takes place in a cold environment, with indoor temperatures generally between -2°C and 0°C.
For this reason, our experiences are not recommended for children under the age of 5.
If you are pregnant or have a health condition that requires particular precautions, we recommend seeking advice from a healthcare professional before your visit.
Are pets allowed at Village Igloo?
Pets are generally not allowed at Village Igloo. However, small pets that can remain in a pet carrier may be accepted by prior arrangement.
Please bear in mind that the cold temperatures and snowy environment may not be suitable for all animals. Contact our team before your visit to check whether your pet can be accommodated.
How does an overnight stay at Village Igloo work?
Meet our guide at 6:50 pm, ready to leave at 7 pm, for the guided walk to Village Igloo.
Once you arrive, take some time to discover the igloo before sitting down for a traditional Savoyard fondue dinner. After dinner, continue the experience in your room, made entirely of snow and ice.
For your comfort, we provide a polar expedition sleeping bag designed to keep you warm in temperatures as low as -25°C, as well as a head torch. Our guide remains at the igloo throughout the night.
A small 20 cl bottle of Pommery POP x Village Igloo champagne will also be waiting for you in your room.
In the morning, enjoy breakfast inside the igloo before walking back down with our guide at around 8 am, before the slopes open for safety reasons.
Departure and return times cannot be changed.
How does dinner at Village Igloo work?
Meet our guide at 6:50 pm, ready to leave at 7 pm, for the guided walk to Village Igloo.
Once you arrive, take some time to discover the igloo and its spectacular snow and ice setting before sitting down for dinner.
In Avoriaz, guests return to the resort independently.
In Les Arcs 2000 and Val Thorens, two accompanied departures are available: the first from 8:45 pm and the second from 9:15 pm.
Departure times are organised according to the transport services and access arrangements at each resort.
Can we choose different dinner menus at the same table?
No. To ensure a smooth service, all adults at the same table must choose the same dinner menu.
Children can choose the Kids’ Menu, available for children up to the age of 10.
Additional drinks and items can also be ordered from the menu on site.
Can we have lunch at Village Igloo?
Yes! Our lunch menu is available every day from 11 am to 3 pm, with no reservation required.
Choose from a selection of savoury dishes and sweet treats, including grilled cheese sandwiches, charcuterie and cheese boards, homemade soup and waffles.
Our traditional Savoyard fondue is only available in the evening and must be booked in advance.
Can we have a drink at Village Igloo in the evening?
The Igloo Bar is open to the public from 10 am until the slopes close.
Once the ski area has closed, Village Igloo is no longer freely accessible.
From 7 pm, the indoor bar is exclusively reserved for guests who have booked dinner or an overnight stay.
Do you cater for allergies, intolerances or specific dietary requirements?
Can we return to the resort after dinner and come back to Village Igloo for the night?
No. If you have booked an overnight stay, you must remain at Village Igloo after arriving.
For safety reasons, guests are not permitted to travel across the ski area during the night.
You will return to the resort the following morning, on foot and accompanied by our guide, before the slopes open.
How can I book dinner or an overnight stay at Village Igloo?
Dinner and overnight stays can be booked directly online from our Booking page.
Advance booking is required for all evening experiences.
For dinner bookings for more than 15 guests, please contact our team at reservation@village-igloo.fr so we can arrange your booking.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking your experience as early as possible, particularly during school holidays and other busy periods.
Last-minute bookings may still be available subject to availability. Check our online booking platform for real-time availability.
For overnight stays, we recommend booking further in advance as the number of rooms is limited.
Do I need to book to have a drink or lunch at the Igloo Bar?
No. No reservation is required during the day.
You can stop by for a drink from 10 am until the slopes close and enjoy our lunch menu from 11 am to 3 pm.
Our traditional Savoyard fondue is only available in the evening and must be booked in advance.
We are going to be late. What should we do?
Please contact our team as soon as possible to let us know.
The meeting time is 6:50 pm, ready to leave at 7 pm. For safety reasons, departure cannot be delayed and you are not permitted to make your own way to Village Igloo after the group has left.
If you arrive too late to join the scheduled departure, your booking may be considered a no-show in accordance with our booking terms and conditions.
Can I change or cancel my booking?
The conditions for changes, cancellations and refunds depend on the experience booked and the terms and conditions applicable to your reservation.
You will find all the relevant information in your booking confirmation and in our Terms and Conditions, available on our booking platforms.
If you have purchased cancellation insurance, please also refer to the terms of your insurance policy to find out which circumstances are covered.
What happens if the weather conditions are bad?
The safety of our guests and team is our priority.
Village Igloo may need to cancel or postpone an experience if weather or operational conditions make it unsafe to welcome guests, particularly in the event of strong winds, heavy snowfall or the closure of the ski area.
If your booking is affected, our team will contact you and provide information about the options available.
When do I need to pay for my booking?
Dinner is paid for on site. When making your reservation, you will be asked to provide a card guarantee to secure your table. No payment will be taken unless you cancel after the permitted cancellation period, in accordance with our booking terms and conditions.
Overnight stays must be paid for online at the time of booking. Payment for an overnight stay cannot be made on site.
Only the tourist tax will need to be paid on site for guests aged 18 and over.
What payment methods do you accept?
Online bookings can be paid for by credit or debit card.
Additional purchases made on site can be paid for by credit/debit card or cash.
How can I use my Village Igloo gift voucher?
For an overnight stay: scan the QR code on your gift voucher or click the link provided. You can then choose your preferred date, subject to availability.
For dinner: make a standard online reservation and present a copy of your gift voucher when paying on site.
If your gift voucher was purchased through one of our partner platforms, the booking process may be different. Please follow the instructions provided on your voucher or contact us at reservation@village-igloo.fr.
I have a Village Igloo La Rosière gift voucher. How can I use it?
Village Igloo La Rosière is now closed, but your gift voucher can be used at one of our three Village Igloo locations: Avoriaz, Les Arcs 2000 or Val Thorens, subject to the validity conditions stated on your voucher.
