Village Igloo Avoriaz

During the day

  • skiing via the Stade chairlift then descending the blue slope of Arare.
  • walk from the arrival of the Prodains Express cable car, following the path along the blue slope of Arare. The climb is a bit steep.

 

In the evening (subject to booking your dinner or overnight stay)

For security reasons, access must be done on foot with a member of our team. For nights only, access is done in snowshoes with our guide.

The Avoriaz station is entirely pedestrianized, you cannot access by car.

Each resort is accessible by ski during the day, you will find more information below to access it on foot during the day or in the evening:

You can take the Prodains Express cable car or go up to Avoriaz by road.
Attention from the entrance of Avoriaz it takes at least 30 minutes on foot to reach the Igloo and about 20 minutes to reach the meeting point.
Our dinner times are coordinated with cable car hours.

You can park at the Prodains to take the Prodains Express cable car that connects Morzine to Avoriaz.

Otherwise you can park at the entrance to the Avoriaz station, be careful from the entrance of Avoriaz it takes at least 30 minutes on foot to reach the Igloo. Information and prices: https://www.avoriaz.com/sejourner/access-et-transport/parkings/

The departure can in no case be shifted by the customer.

We give you an appointment at 6:50 p.m. at the time the Prodains Express cable car arrives in Avoriaz for a departure at 7 p.m. If you are already in the station, you don’t need to take the cable car, you just have to go to the arrival.

During the day, access in tracked vehicle is prohibited because we are located on the ski slopes. Access is therefore necessarily on foot or skiing.

For dinners, you can book a round trip by tracked vehicle. This service is entirely managed by the Avoriaz transport service, our team only takes care of the booking. The price of €20/person (including children) is established by them and fully paid to this service provider.
To book this option, please contact us maximum 48 hours before by email at [email protected]. The meeting point and the schedules are the same as for people who accessed on foot, the return will also be at the Prodains cable car.

No, for safety reasons you cannot use a snowmobile to go to the igloo whether during the day or for evening services.

Village Igloo Les Arcs

Location: 

Close to the start of the Arcabulle chairlift in Arc 2000

During the day

  • skiing via Vallée de l’Arc 2, Plan des eaux ou Plan
  • walk from the center of the station, taking the pedestrian path between the hotel Le Taj-i-Mah and the restaurant Le Savoy. The climb is easy and is done in about twenty minutes on a path with signage.

 

In the evening (subject to booking your dinner or overnight stay)

For security reasons, access must be done on foot with our guide.

You cannot access by car because we are located in the heart of the slopes.

Our dinner schedules are coordinated with the Cabriolet cable car schedules as well as station shuttles.

  • From Arc 1800 or 1600, you can use the free shuttles that connect the stations together to get to Arc 2000 (Attention change to Arc 1600 for people arriving from Arc 1800): https://www.lesarcs.com/se-deplacer/navettes/arc-1600-arc-1950-2000
    You can also come by car and park at one of the station’s car parks.
  • From Arc 1950, you can take the free gondola from Cabriolet.
  • From Bourg-Saint-Maurice, you can get by car or use the funicular to Arc 1600 then take the free shuttle which goes to Arc 2000 (attention only on Thursday evening for the funicular).
  • From Peisey-Vallandry or Other station around, you can come by car and then get on foot.

You can park in Arc 2000 at “Lac des Combes”, “Le Mont-Blanc” or in one of the outdoor car parks, P2, P3 and P4.

You can also park in one of the Arc 1950 car parks and then take the Cabriolet cable car.

Our guide meets you at 6:50 p.m. for a departure at 7 p.m. next to the hotel Le Taj-i-Mah at the Cabriolet in Arc 2000.

Village Igloo Val Thorens

Location: 

On the green slope Combe Thorens, below the Moraine chairlift.

On foot, via The green slope “Flocon”.

During the day

  • skiing, take the Cascades chairlift, go down the 2 Combes green slope then Combe de Thorens slope, the Village Igloo is on the right after the Igloo of Thorens and the picnic huts on the left.
  • walk from Caron Square or from Alberta or Fahrenheit Seven, you can cross the Adrien Théaux red slope to take the green slope Flocon which is located just opposite. You will have to cross the blue slope Dalles, continue on the green slope Combe de Thorens and arrive at the Igloo village on your right.
    If you are a holder of a pedestrian pass, you can take the Cascades chairlift and once at the top, take the pedestrian path “The Navy Sentier”.

In the evening (Subject to booking your dinner or overnight stay)

For security reasons, access must be done on foot with our guide.

You cannot access by car because we are located in the heart of the slopes.

You can park at the P3 car park outside the station and then take the shuttle that connects the parking lot to the center of the station.

It is between -2°C and 0°C. We therefore advise you to dress warmly.

An expedition down is available to you during the night.

You can see the weather for each igloo live thanks to the station webcams.

We advise you to take technical clothing, ski pants, a ski jacket, good shoes for the snow, a pair of warm socks, a hat and gloves.
To sleep, you don’t need to keep your pants and ski jacket, technical clothing, socks and hat is enough.
Downs, pillows and silk sheets are provided as well as hot water bottles on request.

For Avoriaz, rackets are also provided to you.

No, the climb is done on foot, you will have to leave your suitcases in your car or find a concierge to store them.

Yes, we have electricity throughout the igloo, so you can charge your phones in your room or near the bar. Do not hesitate to ask our guide once there.

  • Avoriaz and Val Thorens : We do not have a bathroom but there are real toilets outside the igloo, accessible at any time. Small water bottles are also available on request.
  • The Arcs : We have no running water and therefore no bathroom. We have dry toilets outside the igloo, accessible at any time. Small water bottles are available on request.

Yes, it is possible to come to the Igloo in ski touring under the following conditions:

  • Prevent booking service
  • Inquire beforehand with the Tourist Office to make sure that trails authorizing this practice allow you to access the igloo.

This activity is not part of our catalog and not a service managed by us, Village Igloo declines all responsibility.

On request only, you can leave your skis when the slopes close at 5 p.m. and return to the center of the resort on foot before joining our guide at 7 p.m. at the meeting point.

The next morning, you can go on skis only when the slopes open. You will therefore have to wait on the terrace of the igloo.

Yes, our services are not recommended for pregnant women and children under 5 years of age.

The climb to the igloo is done on foot and the cold can be unpleasant for the youngest. We recommend that pregnant women seek advice from their doctor.

Animals are not accepted unless you have the option of leaving them in a bag or carrying cage.

However, the cold can be unpleasant for them even if the temperature does not seem low to you.

Our guide gives you an appointment at 6:50 p.m. to walk up to the igloo and share his knowledge of the chosen resort and the mountains.

Once arrived at the igloo:

  • A welcome drink
  • A three-cheese fondue, a charcuterie board and a dessert
  • Water, 1/3 of wine per person or a soft,
  • A hot drink
  • A digestive
  • One night in the igloo with a polar expedition down provided to keep you warm down to -25°C, a headlamp and the permanence of the guide in the igloo
  • A small bottle of Champagne Pommery Pop x Village Igloo 20cl
  • A continental breakfast
  • A walk downhill accompanied by the guide

The departure is from the meeting point at 7 p.m. with our guide and the departure to return to the station is always at 8 a.m. with our guide. This departure is early because it must be done before the opening of the slopes.
These times cannot be changed.

There is no bathroom, only toilets at the exterior of the igloo.
Small water bottles will be made available to you on request.

Our guide gives you an appointment at 6:50 p.m. to walk up to the igloo. Once arrived, you can visit the igloo and taste your fondue in an icy universe.

In Avoriaz, the return to the station is done independently.
In The Arcs and Val Thorens a first return is from 8:45 p.m. then a second from 9:15 p.m.

Dinner times are coordinated with those of the cable car and free shuttles.

No, it is not possible to take several different formulas on the same table.
All people of the same table will have to take the same formula, at the exception of children who have a specially adapted formula.

Yes, we offer you a savory and sweet menu for lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with grilled cheese, charcuterie and cheese board, homemade soup and sweet waffles. You don’t need to book.

 

Fondue is only possible for evening services.

The bar open only from 10 a.m. until the slopes closures.
Once the slopes are closed, there is no longer possible to come and have a drink at the Igloo Bar.

Dinner and overnight reservations can consume at the indoor bar as soon as they arrive at 7 p.m. with the guide.
From 7 p.m., the indoor bar is exclusively reserved for people who have booked a dinner or an overnight stay in the igloo and it is not open between the closing of the slopes and the dinner schedule.

We can offer lactose-free and/or meat-free/pork-free alternatives, upon request only when making your reservation.

Lactose-free: Savoyard stew (potatoes, vegetables, diot sausage and bacon), pot-au-feu or soup with or without charcuterie.
Meat-free/Pork-free: Soup or Halal deli meats as a side dish
Gluten-free: Gluten-free bread

No, overnight walks are not allowed for safety reasons.

Reservations are required for dinners and overnight stays.

For the nights, we have:

  • at Les Arcs : 3 rooms for 2 people and 1 room for 2 to 4 people.
  • at Val Thorens : 3 rooms for 2 people and 1 room for 2 to 4 people.
  • at Avoriaz : 4 rooms for 2 people and 2 bedrooms for 2 to 4 people.

No, you don’t need to book. You can come between 10 a.m. and the slopes closure for a drink and between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to discover our lunch menu.

The fondue is only possible for evening services by reservation.

For the dinners : To make sure you have availability, it is better to anticipate and book a week in advance.
We accept last minute bookings until 4pm on the same day, subject to available tables.

For the overnight stays : To make sure you have availability, it is better to anticipate and book one to two weeks in advance.
We accept last minute bookings until noon the same day, subject to available rooms.

In the event of a delay, contact the reservation department or directly team on site to see if it is still possible to welcome you and pick you up at the meeting point.

For dinners : it is possible to cancel, modify or postpone a reservation for free until 7 days before the service, or at any time on presentation of a medical certificate.
After this time and without a medical certificate, a cost of cancellation will be taken from you in line with our conditions of cancellation.

For overnight stays : It is possible to cancel, modify or postpone with cancellation insurance or by writing to us at [email protected]
the requests for cancellation are studied on a case-by-case basis. No refund will be possible in case of cancellation but a postponement will be possible.

Village Igloo reserves the right to cancel services for weather or technical reasons with the possibility of postponing your reservation.

Reasons for cancellation on our part:

  • High winds
  • Snow storm
  • Closure of the ski area

On-site payment is only possible for dinners.
At the time of make your reservation, our service requests a bank imprint, the amount of which will not be debited (except late cancellation without proof).

You must pay for your night via our booking platform to confirm your night.

Yes, cash is accepted on site for the payment of dinners or for all drinks taken extra at the bar.

Restaurant cards and tickets are not accepted.

  • For a dinner : Just send a copy of your voucher to [email protected] specifying the desired date (it is preferable to check our availability upstream in the tab Booking).
  • for a night : If the gift voucher comes from our site, simply scan the QR code or click on the link. You can then choose your date according to our availability. The tourist tax is payable at the time of booking.
    If the gift voucher comes from another platform, please send a copy of this voucher to [email protected] specifying the desired date or to make your request via the platform of the partner site (it is preferable to check our availability upstream in the tab Booking).

The Village Igloo of La Rosière is indeed closed but your gift voucher remains valid on our 3 other stations:
Avoriaz, The Arcs or Val Thorens.
